A adhesion promoter will need to be applied to the fender first in order for the paint to bind correctly, once your ready to paint, a flex-agent will want to be included in your exterior automotive paint in order to prevent fracturing of the paint.
- Is the Minimizer Fender colored the same all the way through the entire fender? Yes, for our standard colors, the color you see if the color of the entire fender through and through. - Can I hang a mud flap on the bottom of your fender? We don’t encourage you to, but yes you could run a flap off the bottom of our Minimizer Fender. We do stress to slot the bolt holes on your flap, and to use just bolts, washers and nuts to install. Also – do not hang a flap to the bottom of our Light-Box optioned fenders if at all possible.
- Will Conspicuity Tape stick to your Minimizer Fender pieces? No, unfortunately tape will not stick to our Minimizer fender material. The good thing though, is most other material will not either, unlike metal or fiberglass fenders, debris, chemicals and other harsh substances will not stick, keeping your Minimizer poly fender looking good for years to come.
- Can I stand on your Minimizer Fenders? We advise to not use the fender as a step if at all possible. The material is flexible and under certain weights may flex, which could cause bodily injury in the event of a fall. The integrity of the fender will not be damaged, it’s more so a safety precaution than anything.
- What would happen to a Minimizer Fender if I were to blow a tire? We have had a number of things happen, in certain cases damage to the bracket could occur resulting in the fender coming off. Simply pick the fender back up, and replace your mounting bracket arm. In other cases we’ve had damage occur to the fender from the tire whipping or rubbing the fender.
- Does the Lifetime warranty cover a blown tire? No, our warranty will not cover a tire failure that results in damage to our Minimizer poly fender.
- Can I buy a replacement fender separately? Yes, you can purchase a replacement fender section individually from any of our Minimizer Distributors. Most sell them either as a set or an individual piece as well.
- I’m not sure what fender section I have, how can I tell? Our fenders have a label on the inside (tire side) of the fender. In the event the label is gone, you can take a picture of your fender and contact us at 800-248-3855 and we can easily tell for you. If not there is a couple key indicators to look for, one being our rib pattern, the second depending on your style, where the fenders butt together there will either be (2) or (4) internal dimples. Or you can visit minimizer.com and compare your model to our fenders models listed.
- I have Minimizer half fenders now, can I add to my fenders to make a full fender? Yes, you can purchase another set of Minimizer poly fenders and bolt directly to your existing fenders to create a full or multi-axle fender option. An additional bracket arm will be required.
- Do certain chemicals have a negative effect on your Minimizer Fender? No, from the most common chemicals we’ve researched, we have not found any that would cause damage to our fender. The most severe acids would have to be in a pure form, exposed to the material for an extreme amount of time in direct sunlight before any minor issue would occur. In the event of a chemical spill, simply wash off to avoid potential issues.
- I run in some severe temperatures, how well does you Minimizer Fender hold up? We’ve done several severe tests on our fenders and have had them well below -100oF to well above +197oF. No brittleness or softness has occurred, if you’re out in a temperature beyond those ranges we feel for you, and hope everything but your fenders hold up.
- What type of Plastic is your Minimizer Fender made out of? None, we don’t use plastic here at Minimizer, our fenders are made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) far superior than your typical plastics most people want to stereotype these into. Our material will flex, bend, twist and turn and still pop back into shape. So unlike other Plastic Fenders out there, we use a higher grade material than most, which is why we are proud to say our fenders have been “Tested & Tortured” and we can offer a Lifetime warranty.
- How is your Minimizer Fender made? We are one of the only ones in the fender business to use a thermo-forming process. Our fender starts out in flat sheet form, cooks a bit in a large oven and then is formed over a water-cooled aluminum mold. Once our fender is formed it will always want to return to its formed shape. This is why if you happen to crush them with a tank, simply put’em out in the sun for a bit and they’ll pop themselves right back out.
- Do you sell the side bristles for your Minimizer Fenders? Ice & Mud Sickle formers you mean? For what, we have a formed side lip to help minimize road spray; our unique beauty ring is all you’ll need to keep road debris at bay. Check out our Anti-Spray video at minimizer.com and see for yourself. We’ll leave the bristles where they should be, on the bottoms of our brooms!
- Can I cut your Minimizer tandem fenders to shorten them? No, are fenders are designed to butt together, cutting the ends off will greatly alter the way our fenders go together. You should not have to alter our tandem fenders in anyway.
- Why do you make a multi piece fender? We do this for a number of reasons, one being for our distributors. They have the ability to stock one part and sell several different styles. The others we don’t have enough space to cover them all, but the most important things to mention are the strength and integrity. The multi purpose approach keeps are fenders stronger than other competitor fenders and makes adjustments to ours very manageable.
- Do you offer a smooth fender, one without the ribs? Not yet, and no. Our ribs add strength which is why our fenders have a lifetime warranty. The ribs are a trademark and can be accessorized in a number of ways to give you that one off look. Not yet, in the sense that we have an innovator running the company, he’s always looking for ways to make our products that much better and we have a lot of things in the old R&D hoper, we may just out do ourselves yet.
- Can I run tire chains with the Minimizer Fenders? Yes, we’ve had a lot of truckers run chains. You’ll want to install your fenders a bit higher than normal to compensate for the added thickness of chains. Does it make it harder to chain with fenders? Was chaining easy to begin with? Hey we’re truckers too, and we know it’s not easy, but to quote Guns N’ Roses – you’ll need “Just a little Patience” and you’ll be running over the mountain or through the mud in no time.
- Can I still change my tire? Absolutely, the fenders are flexible, a little muscle and you can wiggle the tire off, or jack the frame and off the wheel comes. In the event the above will not happen, a few bolts on any one of our brackets and you can easily slide the arm off, lift the fender up, and slide the wheel out.
- Looks like the FAQ is getting pretty long, if you should have any other questions other than what is above, like style I should run, or what did we have to eat last night? Call us; we have a dedicated staff that is happy to talk your ear off in regards to any of our Minimizer products. Just remember our fenders “Never” need paint, fade, rust, crack or need polishing!

Our floor mat is made out of a proprietary composite blend. The mat is designed by taking scanned laser measurements of the internal STOCKED cab. The mat is a tray based system where water and debris will remain contained in the mat. It is rigid enough that it will not curl under the driver’s feet, but still pliable enough that it can be bent while still containing the water or debris when removing to clean
Driver turnover and retention is a huge issue in trucking today, keeping drivers happy and wanting to continue driving for the company is a key factor. Replacing drivers is another issue in itself, but for lower cost on driver turn-over, what easier way to keep the truck looking new by having a custom fit molded floor mat. Think of the cost savings on the life of a truck, with multiple drivers the mats will pay for themselves in no time when looking at high detailing fees to get that truck ready again for a new driver.
The mat is based off similar concepts in the auto field. Other large scale producers make custom fit mats for cars and pickups, and sell thousands; however no one has ever made a custom fit mat for heavy duty trucks. A truck is meant to be driven, what is the first thing you see when getting into a large truck. The floor, with prices on new trucks continually going up why not add a line of protection to not only keep the truck looking good, but also to prevent maintenance and safety issues from occurring do to water or dirt.
Ideal for large fleets, leased trucks and the individual trucker himself. Protect your investment, minimalize your cost on cleaning, and prevent safety and maintenance issues from occurring. Get a Minimizer Floor mat today!

Minimizer: Steerable & Non-Steerable Axle Bracket – FAQ– Answer Sheet.
- What is your warranty on the Minimizer axle brackets? We carry a life-time warranty on our axle brackets when used with a Minimizer Fender.
- What is the difference between your Self-steer and Non-steerable lift axle brackets? The difference is the steerable axle brackets are designed to bolt around the spider of a self-steering lift axle with drum brake. The non-steerable axle bracket is designed to clamp to a 5” round axle that only lifts and lowers.
- Will either bracket work on a lift axle? No, your first step will be to determine if you have a self steerable lift axle or just a straight lift axle. Easiest way to tell, is look at the axle configuration and see if you have tie-rods on it that allows it to turn. If the axle doesn’t have tie-rods or a sway bar, then it’s just a straight lift axle.
- I have a NON-STEERABLE lift Axle what bracket do I need? We offer a single wheel 5” round axle bracket with saddle – part# is B-SHORTLIFTAX. These will U-bolt around your axle. You will need roughly 3 to 4in. of space on the 5in. round axle as well.
- Will the B–SHORTLIFTAX work with a dual wheel lift axle? No are lift axle bracket is only designed to mount a single wheel.
- What Minimizer Fender will work with your B–SHORTLIFTAX? Either our MIN161200 series for 255 70R 22.5 or smaller tires, or our MIN221800 for anything large than a 255 70R 22.5 tire.
- I have a Self–Steerable Lift Axle, what bracket do I need for that? You will first want to download our Steer Axle Guide Book which can be found at minimizer.com. Then determine what weight your lift axle is, (ie 8k, 13k or 20k lift axle). After you review the Guide Book you will then want to proceed to your axle, and once there, stand on the outside of the truck on the driver side and clock your cam tube flange. Once you’ve determined proper clock position, review the Guide Book and determine what measurements you have based off of your bolt pattern compared to the guide measurements.
- I can’t seem to tell what one I have? You will then want to determine what type of bolt pattern is on your S-Cam. Should typically be one of three options, 2 Bolt, 4 Bolt or Boltless S-Cam. If you have a 2 Bolt S-Cam review the Guide Book with all 2-Bolt options. If you have a 4 Bolt S-Cam review the Guide Book for all (6) – 4 bolt options. If you have a Boltless S-Cam, then you would either have a Hendrickson SC13 or a Watson Challin SL1195SSR. If you have either one and it’s in fact a boltless S-Cam you would need our B845SBA kit.
- Is there any assembly required for installing the Lift Axle Brackets? Yes, for the Non-Steer Lift Axle you will have to assemble the saddle bracket and axle bracket together using the supplied U-Bolt kit. Once the axle bracket is attached you will have to drill your 4 aluminum fender arms and bolt to the axle bracket and fender. If you have the Steerable Lift Axle bracket, you will have to remove the tire, in the event you have a dust shield you will have to remove that. Bolt the 4 spider brackets to the rear hub holes. Then you will have to drill and bolt your aluminum fender arms to the supports and fenders. Finally if you have a Boltless S-Cam Steerable Lift Axle Bracket, you will have to weld the flange to the axle mount as shown in the included instructions with your kit. Then proceed to follow the steps in the instruction manual.
- Are the hardware and aluminum arms included in the Lift Axle Bracket kits? Yes, all mounting hardware and aluminum arms are included in your lift axle kit.
- Do the fenders come with the Lift Axle Bracket kit? No, our Minimizer fenders are sold separately.
- Are the Lift Axle Bracket kits sold as a pair or separately? The lift axle brackets are sold as a kit, and will install one axle. Replacement parts can be purchased individually however.
- My aluminum arms are to long can I cut them? Yes we purposely make the aluminum arms a bit longer than needed, as each axle is different. You can use a chop saw or band saw to cut your aluminum arms down to fit your fenders better.
- When installing your Lift Axle Bracket kit with Minimizer Fenders, do I put your fender on top or underneath the aluminum arms? We recommend you place our fender underneath the aluminum arm and bolt into the top of our fender rib. This will help to keep your fenders centered as well and avoid any rubbing issues.
- Is there mounting instructions to install your Lift Axle Bracket kits? Yes, each of our kits comes with a detailed instruction manual on how to properly install your axle brackets.
- I have a wide based super single tire, will your Lift Axle Brackets work? Yes our brackets and Minimizer Fenders will work with tire sizes up to a 445 22.5 tire size. Single wheel.
- I need a replacement part, can I buy a single piece or do I need to buy a complete kit? Each or our kit parts can be purchased separately, you will want to know what side the bracket is on, and what part either front or rear. Each of our kits have a breakdown, so if you can let your Minimizer distributor know or by calling 800-248-3855 with your bracket kit part# and the information from above we will be able to provide you with your replacement part#.
- Can you email the diagram or fax it so I can tell what kit I need? Absolutely, we can send it either way to help you, just let one of our Inside sales staff know where to send it and we can get it over to you right away.
- Where can I purchase the Minimizer Lift Axle Bracket Kits? At any of our Minimizer distributors, contact us at 800-248-3855 to find your nearest Minimizer distributor or visit us online at minimizer.com and request additional info on the Minimizer Lift Axle Bracket Kits.

- Is there a setup fee for logo flaps? Yes and No. Yes there is a One-Time setup charge on custom logo flaps using your own logo provided to Minimizer. No there is not a setup charge if you are using Minimizer stocked letters and clip art.

Please contact your sales representative for minimum requirements.
- How is the logo applied to the flap? We hot stamp the logo into our flap using vinyl material. Unlike a lot of other suppliers out there, we do not print the flap, which usually results in your logo fading or scraping off. Our logo being hot stamped will last the life of the flap itself and is virtually impossible to rub it off under normal operating conditions.
- Does your mud flaps require a mounting bracket? Yes – in most cases you will need to attach your Minimizer Mud Flap to a mounting bracket arm. There is a wide array of mud flap mounting brackets available from one of our distributors, please contact a Minimizer representative or your local parts distributor for flap mounting options. You can also mount the flap to the bottom of our Minimizer Fenders, we recommend slotting the bolt hole however so it will tear off easier, or use our Minimizer Fast Flap mounting hardware to install. We do not recommend however mounting flaps to the bottom of the Minimizer Fenders with the optional light boxes. This will void the warranty on the fender box itself as damage may occur and backing plate separation can happen.
- Do you supply a sample of proof of the flap layout? Yes – a Minimizer proof showing measurement, size, quantity, color and layout will be supplied. A signed copy of the layout will need to be returned to your Minimizer representative so production can begin. - Do the toolboxes require mounting brackets? Our chest box may not require a box depending on how they mount it, if they set it on a flat surface then they would just use lag bolts and bolt into the sub-frame of what the box is sitting on. If they were to hang it off the side of the truck then, yes, a bracket would be required. Also for our underbody, again depending on how they mount it, but in most cases all of our underbody boxes require a bracket.
- Do the mounting brackets come with the toolboxes? No, mounting brackets are sold separately, we do offer a mounting bracket kit, Part# 10001461. They would have to purchase that separate.
- How much weight will the bracket support? Minimizer’s bracket system has a max load of 250lbs. The amount of weight the box is able to hold depends on the bracket system used which could increase or decrease depending on how it’s mounted and the style of brackets used.

- Can you buy replacement parts? Yes, every part of the toolbox can be purchased or sold separately, so in the event of an accident your customer can buy a replacement part.
- Can you customize the box to have it be co-branded to a particular customer (OEM, Dealer or Fleet). Yes, we would work this like we do with customer mud flaps and floor mats. If customer agrees to plate charges, and layout then we can proceed to place order. A unique part # would need to be created for the custom box first. However, keep in mind, a minimum of 12 boxes would be required to have a custom box logo.
- What is the cost on our toolbox and does color change the price? Cost does vary based on SIZE only. Colors do not change the price of the box itself, only the size of the box. Also the same for our chest or underbody option as well, same price either way.
- Can the box have handles? Yes, we do offer a box with attached metal handles, part# specific so note to your customers this will need to be ordered that way. They can also do it on their own if they would like, however they would have to drill it causing holes. We do offer though a chest box option with carrying handles.

Minimizer Fast Flaps FAQ – Answer Sheet. For TSM Training
- What colors are the Fast Flaps available in? Stainless Steel.
- What is your warranty on the Fast Flap? Life-Time warranty.
- What is the Fast Flap? Fast Flap is a heat tempered stainless steel clamp that allows mud flaps to release free from brackets without damaging flaps, fenders or hanger brackets. Think of it as a large trap or clamp. You simply bolt the Fast Flap to your mud flap holes and insert your mud flaps into the Fast Flap clamp. No more tearing of flaps.
- What is the purpose of your Minimizer Fast Flap? Simple, tired of having flaps get torn off, or hefty fines for not having one on? Or maybe you’re sick of paying high labor rates to re-install flap hangers, or flaps themselves. The flap will release damage free from the Fast Flap when backing up into any type of obstruction which causes the mud flap to be pinched against the rear tire. With our Fast Flap, the driver can quickly in minutes re-install his mud flap, preventing expensive fines for driving without one (illegal in all 50 states by the way) and costly down time if you were to tear one off, and didn’t have a Fast Flap on.
- Is there assembly or any additional installation needed to install Fast Flaps? No – no assembly required, and no need to drill holes or fabricate additional brackets to install. The Fast Flap simply bolts into your standard Flap hole; all hardware is provided for install. You simply bolt this into the place of the flap, then a little muscle and a 10in. Flat Head screwdriver is needed to insert your mud flap.
- What size of bolt hole is needed and what are the measurements for the holes? A 1/4in. bolt is inserted into the Fast Flap for you, so your standard hole from your previous flap will work. The holes are placed at 7in. on center – which is a standard commercial flap hole placement. Again no need to drill holes to install will simply bolt into existing mud flap locations.
- Can I reinstall my mud flap into the Fast Flap if it pulls out? Yes, simply get a 10in. long flat head screw driver and pry the Fast Flap back open, insert the mud flap back in and be on your way. Unlike other spring loaded flap hangers, are release freely from the hanger itself, allowing the driver to re-install the mud flap in minutes, avoided costly fines and downtime for not having a torn off flap or bent flap hanger.
- Are the Fast Flaps hard to install? No – we’ve installed them on a lot of different makes and model trucks out there, in all forms of industry applications. We used our most experienced guys, to random ones off the street, and they can install these in no time. We’d bet you could have your set on in under an hour probably even quicker than that; take the challenge we’d love to hear the feedback.
- What size of Mud Flaps will the Fast Flap fit? Generally all sizes, they are standard for 24in. wide flaps, however you can just add additional Fast Flaps to a wider flap if needed. As for length, these are most common on 30in. and 36in. but will fit shorter as well as longer flaps up to 42in.
- What is the minimum order on your Fast Flap? We sell the Minimizer Fast Flap as a packaged set which contains (4) Fast Flaps, minimum order would be one complete packaged set. However you can buy as many sets as you would like.
- Are the Fast Flaps sold as a pair or individually? The Fast Flap set is sold as a pair, or a set of (4) Fast Flaps, which will mount (1) pair of mud flaps. We do not sell them individually however.
- What thickness of mud flaps will your Fast Flap hold? They will fit your most common thickness of flaps. 1/4in. all the way to 1/2in.
- Does your Fast Flap require a mounting bracket? No – no need for a mounting bracket, ideally it’s designed to bolt into existing flap holes on your trucks body application. Will work to attach to a mud flap bracket, however most common that it’s bolted directly to the box (bed) or trailer.
- How much force is needed to pull the mud flap out of the Fast Flap, I’m worried the flap will just fall off while driving? No need to worry; check out our video on Fast Flap at minimizer.com. We have Tested & Tortured this; it requires in excess of 500 lbs. for 1/4in. thick rubber flaps and 450 lbs. for 3/8in thick rubber flaps. Go ahead and give them a pull, they aren’t coming off just driving down the road.
- Does the Fast Flap have conspicuity tape on it, I know that it’s required in most states? Absolutely, we have 8 strips included with your Fast Flap kit, (4) red and (4) clear. You will just apply the tape strips yourself once you install your Fast Flap.
- I’m not sure if I need a Fast Flap, whose using these? Everyone and their relative, no, we like to say these are designed for everyone. Whether you drive a cement mixer, asphalt truck, block truck, logging truck, roll off or refuse truck or are on-road or off-road, from an owner operator, fleet or Municipality /D.O.T to just a person who has a truck, the Fast Flap is for you. Works great for freight haulers as well that do experience mud flap damage while backing into those difficult docks or loading areas. So as you can imagine again, anyone who drives a large truck, this is ideal for. We have thousands in use, and can easily say they’ll quickly pay for themselves if you ever happen to pull your flap off.
- What is the lead time on the Fast Flap? We keep a large stock of Minimizer Fast Flaps in house, our turnaround times are very short, some of the best in the industry. Depending on the shippable location, we can generally have the Fast Flap out to you within 1-2 business days.
- Where can I purchase the Minimizer Fast Flap? At any of our Minimizer distributors, contact us at 800-248-3855 to find your nearest Minimizer distributor or visit us online at minimizer.com and request additional info on the Minimizer Fast Flap.

Minimizer: Trailer Slick Plate – FAQ – Answer Sheet.
- What colors are the Trailer Slick Plates available in? White Only
- What is the warranty on the Trailer Slick Plate? 5 Year Warranty
- What sizes of Trailer Slick Plates do you offer? Sizes vary; the plates are designed to fit a specific upper coupler plate. Please reference our Trailer Slick Plate flyer to find your part#.
- What is the weight of your Trailer Slick Plate? Plate weights will vary depending on size, but none of them will weigh more than 14 lbs.
- Does the Slick Plate require any install? Yes, you will have to drill approximately 13 to 19 holes (depending on plate size) into your trailer upper coupler plate. The Trailer Slick Plate itself comes with recessed mounting holes to be used as a guide. Installation instructions, including drill size and recommended tools will be noted.
- What recommended tools will I need to install the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate? To install your Trailer Slick Plate, you will need the following: Marker, screwdriver, center punch or centering tool, drill with 1/8”, 17/64” and 9/32” (optional drill bits, Loctite, Impact driver.
- Does the Trailer Slick Plate come with the hardware to install? Yes, all mounting hardware is included with your Trailer Slick Plate. **Note you will actually have extra mounting Torx bolts included with your hardware in the event a bolt break should occur. **
- Do you have to tap your holes for the install? No the bolts are self-taping, we recommend starting with a smaller pilot hole, then moving to a larger drill bit. Once your larger hole has been drilled, using the provided Torx bolt, you will screw the fasteners in.
- What happens if one of these Torx bolts breaks during install? This may occur especially on hardened upper coupler plates. In the event a Torx bolt should break. Drill a 5/16” hole in the Trailer Slick Plate next to the broken screw hole. Countersink the hole with a standard 82 degree countersink bit. Install Torx screw per instructions procedure and move on to the next hole. This is why we include extra hardware in the event this may occur.
- Will drilling of holes into my upper coupler plate on my trailer void any warranty? Please contact your trailer warranty guide on this, most of the warranties we researched are not limited to such a case, best to check first however.
- Will this cause any coupling issues when connecting my trailer to the hitch? None that we’ve found, typically kingpins are long enough anyways. According to the SAE J700 guidelines, even with installing our ¼” thick Trailer Slick Plate – your kingpin should still fall into the 3.2 to 3.4” guideline. We do recommend following the install instructions accordingly, and following proper attaching and detaching instructions when connecting your trailer. Always check to see your trailer is secure before leaving.
- How long does it take to install? This may vary depending on how much cleaning is needed on your upper coupler plate. Install time would then be on average around 60 minutes.
- Does the upper coupler plate on the trailer and the 5th wheel plate on the truck need to be cleaned prior to install? Yes you will want to remove as much old grease as you possibly can. A good putty knife, solvent and if need be, a proper steam clean should get the job done. It is important to avoid getting water behind the upper coupler plate when using the steam cleaning method.
- Will you need to continue to grease the 5th wheel plate after installing the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate? No, the top plate itself you will not want to apply grease. We would recommend applying either a 85/140W gear lube or regular motor oil to the 5th wheel during regular PM’s or every (2) months. This is only for preventive maintenance and will help keep corrosion from setting in on your 5th wheel top plate.
- Will I have to do the same with the Trailer Slick Plate? As far as applying a anti-corrosion oil to the plate itself no. We do recommend applying a glaze or anti-rust paint, or gear lube or motor oil to the bottom side of the upper coupler trailer plate. This again is to prevent corrosion.
- Will grease hurt the Trailer Slick Plate? No grease itself will not, however old grease does contain your abrasive materials where the wearing of the plate can occur, always try to keep as much grease off the plate as possible.
- What if you hook to multiple tractors? If possible, clean as much grease off prior to hooking, what is also handy is to keep a bottle of dawn dish soap readily available and prior to hooking, apply to the Trailer Slick Plate to act as a de-greaser.
- What is the load capacity of your Slick Plate? >100,000 lbs.
- How can I determine what Trailer Slick Plate I need? You will want to take a measurement from the front of your trailer to the center of your king pin. Then using our Trailer Slick Plate guide, you can determine what Trailer Slick Plate will fit to your trailer dimensions. Or visit our website at minimizer.com and reference our On the Truck Series product lineup and find the Trailer Slick Plate brochure.
- Can I buy replacement Torx bolts? Yes, the bolts will have a bolt pack# assigned to them. Reference your Trailer Slick Plate part# to find your correct bolt kit pack. Then contact any of our Minimizer distributors to order.
- What is the Trailer Slick Plate made out of? It is made from Ultra High-density Molecular Weight Polyethylene. (UHMWPE) is odorless, tasteless, and nontoxic. It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals except oxidizing acids; has extremely low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction; is self-lubricating; and is highly resistant to abrasion, in some forms being 15 times more resistant to abrasion than carbon steel.
- Will I need to still grease my 5th wheel plates locking jaws? Yes, you will still want to maintain proper lubrication on the locking jaws and mechanism. This can be done while the trailer is pinned also.
- Is there anything else I should have to do, to my 5th wheel plate? Always be sure the 5th wheel is deburred before pinning up to the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate.
- I have a low lube Teflon 5th wheel top plate; will the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate still work in conjunction with this? No, we do not recommend running a 5th wheel low lube Teflon top plate with the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate, or any other plate for that matter. One or the other is only recommended.
- What side of the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate goes towards the front? The plate has a front and a rear to each of them. The front side, will be the side with the beveled edge.
- With all these holes, is there a certain pattern that needs to be followed when attaching the Trailer Slick Plate down? Yes, you will find a recommended bolting pattern in our supplied install instruction. We recommend following the proper bolting pattern.
- Is there any maintenance I will need to do to the Trailer Slick Plate overtime? We suggest you continue to follow your 5th wheel manufacturer’s lubrication and maintenance recommendations for the locking mechanism and king pin. Other than that, be sure to keep grease off, and periodically check bolts/nuts and retighten if necessary.
- How far do you drill your holes into the upper coupler plate? Drill the holes all the way through.
- I’ve encountered a beam when drilling into my upper coupler plate, what should I do? If you encounter a beam, you only need to drill as deep as the screw itself.
- My plate sticks past my trailer front edge, what now, can I cut it? No, if your Trailer Slick Plate exceeds the front of your trailer, you have the incorrect Trailer Slick Plate. Do not install. You will need to consult our Trailer Slick Plate diagrams that can be found at minimizer.com and confirm your size. You will have to get a new Trailer Slick Plate in the event it sticks past the front of your trailer.
- Where can I purchase the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate? At any of our Minimizer distributors, contact us at 800-248-3855 to find your nearest Minimizer distributor or visit us online at minimizer.com and request additional info on the Minimizer Trailer Slick Plate.

- Off road guys for surely need this, dirt, sand, dust and other particles are abrasive, mix in with grease and you basically have a piece of sand paper between your trailer and top plate wearing each turn.
- Service – greasing a top plate is not fun and is definitely a dirty job. Scraping and cleaning, re-greasing is this getting done, who is responsible for doing this? Take the worry out of your service manager’s hands and run a top plate or for your independent trucker save him the down time on greasing at each stop.
- Time – it’s time and money when you have to disconnect to clean and re-grease your top plate, think of the time savings alone in not having to do this, how much money is your time worth?
- What colors are the Slick Plates available in? White Only
- What is the warranty on the Slick Plate? 5 Year Warranty
- What sizes of Slick Plates do you offer? Sizes vary; the plates are designed to fit a specific top plate Make and Model. Please reference our Slick Plate flyer to find your part#.
- What is the weight of your Slick Plate? Less the 5 pounds
- Does the Slick Plate require any install? Yes, you will have to drill approximately 12 holes into your top plate. The Slick Plate itself comes with 6 recessed mounting holes to be used as a guide, the addition of two (2) steel ram bars is also required and slots are manufacturerd into the plate itself. Once you have installed and bolted your top plate down, you can simply use the ram bars as drilling guides to drill out your 6 additional holes for the steel ram bars. Please refer to our Minimizer Slick Plate video install on our training site. The Insert-Style Slick Plate does not require any holes to be drilled into the 5th wheel plate; they are already existing.
- Does the Slick Plate come with the hardware to install? Yes, all mounting hardware and/or steel ram bars are included with your Slick Plate.
- Do you have to tap your holes for the install? No, the bolts are threaded to receive the nut included in the hardware installation kit; simply drill the hole large enough as specified in the install instructions and insert the bolt when required.

- Will this cause any coupling issues when connecting my trailer to the hitch? None that we’ve found, typically kingpins are longer anyways and hooking and un-hooking should not have any issues when connecting your truck and trailer. But always verify the king pin is locks in place when the Slick Plate is installed to verify a secure coupling.
- How long does it take to install? The initial install we did, after cleaning of the plate was complete, took approximately 30 minutes. It will vary on how fast you can drill your holes and clean your top plate.
- Does the 5th wheel plate need to be cleaned prior to installing the Slick Plate? Yes, you will want to remove as much old grease as you possibly can, a nice hot pressure wash should take most of it off, upon drying proceed to install your Slick Plate.
- Will you need to continue to grease the plate after installing the Slick Plate? No, the top plate itself you will not want to apply grease, the drier you can keep it the better. You will still want to maintain a proper grease amount on all moving parts though.
- Will grease hurt the Slick Plate? No, grease itself will not, however old grease does contain your abrasive materials where the wearing of the plate can occur, always try to keep as much grease off the top plate as possible.
- What if you hook to multiple trailers? If possible, clean as much grease off prior to hooking, what is also handy is to keep a bottle of dawn dish soap readily available and prior to hooking, apply to the Slick Plate to act as a de-greaser.
- What is the load capacity of your Slick Plate? >100,000 lbs.
- How can I determine what Slick Plate I need? Find your Make and Model number on your top plate product plate. Contact your Minimizer distributor or call 800-248-3855 and speak to a sales representative to get your correct part#.
- I do not have a top plate product plate to tell what I have what can I do now? On the truck, in the truck and fix the truck is what Minimizer is about these days. Mattresses go in the truck. A professional driver needs the proper support and pressure point relief to get a good night’s rest. With this mattress, you’ll sleep better at night and wake up feeling well-rested. Studies show that sleep quality is even more important than sleep quantity in protecting good physical, mental and emotional health in people of all ages. A body contouring mattress that helps keep the spine aligned is also helpful for people with chronic back pain and other sleep related issues. Minimizer knows how to #RespectTheDriver. Drivers not only deserve, but need, a good night’s rest. Without professional truck drivers, how do you think we became more than just the “fender guys?” People like you that buy, haul and request our products. It’s just another way we can say “Thank You” for all that you do for every one of us!
- What is your Minimizer Long Haul Series Mattress made out of? It is made out of 100% natural, organic latex, and is covered in a 1” soft luxurious Damask Quilted Cover.
- Latex, like the smelly gloves? No, not like the smelly gloves. We use 100% natural, organic latex, from the rubber sap or serum that comes from rubber trees (Hevea Brasiliensis). No harsh chemicals or odor producing agents are used in our mattress material; we only use the best here at Minimizer. Beyond the organic nature of latex, a latex mattress can offer so many other great benefits.
- Why latex? Natural, organic latex is a very comfortable and supportive sleep surface. It conforms to your body, offering support where needed, to help keep your spine in alignment throughout the night. It also offers freedom of movement—rolling with you instead of keeping you in place. Natural, organic latex provides cushion for pressure points like hips and shoulders, allowing for a comfortable and restful night’s sleep, one of the most important factors when it comes to driving a truck for a living. We know, because we #RespectTheDriver. The supportive nature of natural, organic latex and its ability to relieve pressure point discomfort are two significant benefits – along with many others – as to why we chose a natural, organic latex mattress. Simply put; this is the best mattress material available on the market.
- Other benefits like what? Natural latex is hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, dust mite, mildew, and mold-resistant. Dust mites are unable to live in natural, organic latex mattresses. If you are sensitive to dust mites, choosing a natural, organic latex mattress can often relieve allergies and will let you have a much sounder, less congested sleep. Our natural, organic latex mattresses are covered in damask quilting, rugged enough to stand up in a truck environment. The use of these materials allows our mattress to meet flame retardant guidelines, so they are FMVSS 302 compliant without using harsh, toxic chemicals that can be related to health problems. Compared to conventional mattresses, the absence of chemical flame retardants and synthetic additives in the latex could help to keep long term health problems at bay. Another key benefit of natural, organic latex is that it will help to regulate your body temperature throughout the night. Sleeping directly on a memory foam mattress could cause you to overheat. Natural, organic latex is amazing in that under the quilted damask cover, it will help keep you warm when you are cold and keep you cool when you become too warm. One of the most desirable attributes of a natural, organic latex mattress is the ease of customization. Our natural, organic latex mattress is made in layers that are held together with a natural, water-based adhesive. The layers allow for customization to meet your comfort level. You can now customize the firmness of your mattress, so you can enjoy a full, restful night’s sleep.
- In what way can you customize your mattress? We offer a true DUAL sided mattress, one that offers a softer support layer on one side, with a firmer support layer on the opposite side. Customizable in a way that you can flip it over to find your preferred sleep comfort level. We feel that with our two layers of natural organic latex, coupled with a firmer support core, you will find your SWEET SPOT of comfort from one side or the other. Whether you prefer to sleep on your back, stomach or side, our multi-layered, dual sided customizable mattress will offer you the sleep you’ve been searching for in a truck mattress.
- How will I be able to tell what side is soft and firm? We feature a label on the outer sides of the mattress showing both sides. Our mattress will make you want to sleep in your truck even when you’re at home!
- You mentioned pressure points. What are you talking about when saying pressure points? Your body composition. The majority of a person’s weight or body mass is from the top of the stomach to mid-thigh (approximately 65-70% of total weight). Proper support provided by a quality mattress is critical to hips, low-back and shoulders. Key areas to professional drivers when you consider the line of work they’re in! Pressure Point is a term thrown around a lot in the mattress industry. A pressure point is caused by the lack of blood flow to your capillaries. These “pressure points” are what cause people to toss and turn at night, disrupting sleep and making it harder to drive the next day. The average person needs 7-9 hours of sleep a day to be alert, attentive, and healthy. Sleep deprivation has been linked to several health issues, including weight loss/gain, high-blood pressure, and heart disease, among several others. Ask yourself – are you sleeping soundly? Do your pressure points ache? Are you feeling ready to drive the next day?
- I drive this type of truck or that type of truck; do you have only one size of mattress available and how will I know if yours will fit? No, we have several sizes of truck mattresses. Our mattress sizes are – (in inches – L x W x H)
-
- 32”x78”x10”
- 36”x80”x10”
- 39”x80”x10”
- 42”x80”x10”:
To determine – simply measure your existing mattress, or better yet, your sleeper berth compartment to get your ideal mattress size.
-
- Will you have other sizes? At this time NO, we have researched the most common sleeper berth areas and found these to be the standard sizes we will offer at this time.
- Ten inches of height? Yes, that is correct. Our dual sided, 100% natural, organic latex mattress will be a plush 10” of thickness. The breakdown is 1” of damask quilting on both the top and bottom to give you that soft, luxurious feel. A 3” 20 ILD Soft Latex core for most side sleepers – a 2” 40 ILD support core to ensure you won’t bottom out and another 3” 30 ILD Firm core for most back and stomach sleepers. Add it up, and we have a 10” high mattress.
- ILD what does that mean? ILD stands for “Indentation Load Deflection,” which is a standard measuring unit in the mattress industry. The higher the ILD, the more firm a mattress layer is. We’ve found that most people fall between a 24 to 32 level of firmness. With our DUAL sided Long Haul Series Mattress, we believe you will get that SWEET SPOT in terms of comfort. What do we know though, right? We’re only truck parts people! No, we have engineereds, product managers and a bunch of key people that truly look into all of our new products here at Minimizer. We’ve been talking mattresses for a while now, and you may have even heard one of our professional sales associate ask you about mattresses in the past. It was all part of our plan to offer the best to our customers – you the drivers!
- Tell me more about natural, organic latex? It’s naturally durable, creating a long lasting mattress and mattress material, which is hands down the best on the market today. Also, did we mention its “Guaranteed for Life”? It’s naturally elastic, with no motion disturbance. Independent cell structure of natural latex helps prevent added motion disturbance. It’s naturally supportive, conforming to your body and providing optimal progressive support. Finally it’s naturally breathable, providing superb ventilation. It’s also moisture-resistant, due to ventilating structure of latex. It dries quickly and will help you stay sleeping, feeling cool and warm during the changing seasons you experience on the road. Hey we know, we were started by a truck driver. It’s not an easy job nor conducive to things lasting a long time. We just believe in giving you something that is the best from the start, something that is going to last as long as you want to drive your truck. What else is the point? If you’re going to do something, do it to the best of your ability, or find something else to do!

- Does Minimizer offer a protective mattress cover for the Long Haul Series Mattress? We do not at this time, but these mattresses are common sizes so you can find one at any home or bedding store.
- Does Minimizer offer a low profile, or narrower mattress? No – our mattress is designed with comfort in mind. We currently only offer a 10 in. thick mattress.
- What is the weight capacity of the Minimizer Long Haul Series Mattress? Our mattress is rated for drivers that weigh between 100 lbs. (or smaller) and 400 lbs. Most mattresses, if they publish it at all, aren’t even close to that and do not support larger drivers. No matter your size, our mattress will keep you from bottoming out and support you in a proper spine alignment that will keep you feeling supported during that well deserved rest.
- If I order a mattress, how soon can I expect it to be shipped? We keep a large inventory of mattresses in stock of all (4) sizes in our environmentally-controlled warehouse. We will also continue to build our distributor inventory levels as well. Just like all of our other Minimizer products, once ordered, we will ship it within four business days (if it’s not in stock at one of our preferred Minimizer distributors).
- Can you clean the mattress cover; does any special chemical need to be used? Yes, you can clean it; no, it is not removable. To clean though, we recommend using any all-purpose, mild material cleaner when removing any unwanted stains.
- What is the price on the Minimizer Long Haul Series Mattress? We do not sell direct, so we encourage you to find your closest Minimizer mattress distributor and get a feel of the high quality this has to offer you. We also encourage you to contact us at 800-248-3855 or visit us online at https://www.minimizer.com for your nearest Minimizer mattress distributor.
- What does the Minimizer Long Haul Series Mattress weigh? Our mattresses range in weight based on size, but are between 51 and 68 lbs.
- Can I order these for my home? We don’t see why not! You’re going to wish you were still sleeping on your truck mattress even when you’re at home. Please note our sizes and confirm with standard mattress sizes. In most cases, doubling up one of our mattresses could get you in a California King, standard King, or possibly a Queen.
- What is your short and sweet sales pitch for your Minimizer Long Haul Series Mattress? Many people are concerned about natural, organic latex mattresses being a bit pricier than conventional innerspring mattresses. The most important factor to look at is the lifespan of a natural, organic latex mattress compared to its conventional innerspring counterpart. An innerspring mattress generally has a lifespan that ranges between 5-10 years, sometimes with body impressions forming within months, whereas a natural, organic latex mattress generally has a lifespan of 20-30 years with a comparable warranty to back it up. Oh, by the way we offer a “Guaranteed for Life” warranty. So, although an innerspring mattress might be cheaper up front, your natural, organic latex mattress will probably last long enough that you would have purchased 2 or 3 new, cheaper innersprings, which will save you money when trying to dispose of these old uncomfortable mattresses. Although a natural, organic latex mattress is an investment, we will tell you that you’re the investment. Last time we checked, trucks don’t drive themselves, and without you, your company will not be making any money, so invest in yourself, your company and your wellbeing. Besides, you will be spending much less money over the lifespan of the product. There are so many benefits to sleeping on a Minimizer Long Haul Series natural, organic latex mattress! As you’ve read – the health, comfort, versatility, and financial options are just four very important factors that you might consider when choosing a mattress for you or your loved ones. Give us a call today to chat about what is right for your lifestyle!

- What colors are available? Black – only
- What is your warranty on the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket? The bracket has a 5 year warranty when used with the Minimizer Fast Flap (Part# 101227). For further details please visit minimizer.com and see resources page for details.
- What is the size of the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket? 30.25 in. in length – with 4 holes at 7 in on center lengths designed to easily bolt on Minimizer Fast Flaps.
- What is the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket made out of? C-Channel powder coated carbon steel – with a welded mounting tab that allows it to easily bolt to your truck frame.
- Does the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket come with conspicuity tape? Yes the kit will include conspicuity tape sections; they are included with the Fast Flap (Part# 101227).
- What is the Fast Flap? Fast Flap is a heat tempered stainless spring steel clamp that allows mud flaps to release free from brackets without damaging flaps, fenders or hanger brackets. Think of it as a large clamp. You simply bolt the Fast Flap to the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket and insert your mud flaps into the Fast Flap clamp. No more tearing off flaps.
- What is the purpose of your Minimizer Fast Flap? It’s simple. Tired of having flaps get torn off, or hefty fines for not having one on? Or maybe you’re sick of paying high labor rates to re-install flap hangers, or flaps themselves. The flap will release damage free from the Fast Flap when backing up into any type of obstruction which causes the mud flap to be pinched against the rear tire. With our Fast Flap, the driver can quickly re-install their mud flap, preventing expensive fines for driving without one (illegal in all 50 states, by the way) and costly down time if you were to tear one off and didn’t have a mud flap on.
- Do you need to bolt the Fast Flap to the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket? No – but it is recommended that you always use the Fast Flap with the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket. You can use the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket to hang any standard 24in. wide mud flap in conjunction with Minimizer Fast Flap, and turn your tractor or trailer into a vehicle that will no longer damage your mud flaps. That’s the way we would like to see it, we #RespectTheDriver.
- Is the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket spring loaded? It is not. It is standard C-channel carbon steel welded to a flange that bolts to the side of a frame rail or other application on the rear of a truck or trailer. The Fast Flap Mounting Bracket is not spring loaded, and we recommend only using it in conjunction with our Minimizer Fast Flap, part# 101227.
- Do you need the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket to mount the Fast Flap? No, this is not required to mount the Fast Flap. The Fast Flap Mounting Bracket is an extension piece if you can’t mount the Fast Flap to the back of your Truck or Trailer. The Minimizer Fast Flap can be purchased individually through one of our Minimizer Distributors. Part# 101227 is the Fast Flap kit only.
- It says that your Fast Flaps have a pull force of over 500 lbs. Would the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket be able to take that much pull force? Yes, we’ve actually tested it to over 800 lbs. Unfortunately if you were just using mud flaps, you’re likely to tear your flaps before the bracket would bend. This is why our Minimizer Fast Flaps work great in addition to the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket. Prevent those costly mistakes from occurring time after time and get yours today.
- Is the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket difficult to install? No, it is designed to bolt into your existing frame bolt holes where your flap hangers would mount. If you’re bolting into something else, a hole will need to be drilled prior to installing our Fast Flap Mounting Bracket. Simply follow our provided instructions and use the frame tab as a guide and drill holes according to the mounting specifications.
- Are the Fast Flaps hard to install? No – we’ve installed them on a lot of different makes and model trucks and trailers out there, in all forms of industry applications. We’d bet you could have your set on in under an hour. Probably even quicker than that. Take the challenge. We’d love to hear the feedback.
- What is the lead time on the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket? We keep a large stock of Minimizer Fast Flap Mounting Brackets in house. Our turnaround times are very short, some of the best in the industry. Depending on the shippable location, we can generally have the Fast Flap Mounting Bracket out to you within 4 business days. Your best bet is to find a preferred Minimizer stocking distributor. Contact us today at 800-248-3855 to find your nearest distributor.
- Are individual pieces sold separately? If damaged and it is deemed to be a warranty-related issue, then Minimizer will replace any piece for you. If you just so happened to have an accident, hey, we know, accidents are possible, then yes. Please contact us or one of our distributors with a description of the piece you’re looking to replace and we will have individual components available.
